This course is a four-credit, undergraduate-level course with lecture, laboratory and field trips. It is an introductory course of plant identification, naming and classification as well as the history of systematics and the role of evolution in systematics.

This Undergraduate seminar is a chance for professional development among biology students, particularly in relation to the organization, discussion, assessment and presentation of information in a group setting. A major purpose of this course is to hone a student's ability to gather and successfully access information on a particular subject of his or her interest, give a PowerPoint presentation.
